crystalCrystal was born in northern California and grew up on the western slope of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), with a minor emphasis in Substance Abuse and Addiction Treatment. Her graduate training lead her to Keene, New Hampshire where she earned her Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family therapy from Antioch University New England. Crystal’s clinical experience prior to joining the Calo team included working with children and families in outpatient clinics, residential settings and private practice. Additionally, she was credentialed at two hospitals in the New Hampshire to provide emergency evaluations and facilitate hospitalizations for individuals in crisis. After nearly 4 years at Calo Lake Ozark as the Clinical Director for the girls’ teen program, she brought her clinical and administrative expertise to Calo Young Adults in Winchester, Virginia. She has a passion for working with Developmental Trauma and Attachment concerns. She is trained in Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga, Brainspotting, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Heart Math. She provides training on Calo’s CASA model to clinical and support staff for Calo Programs and has presented on the model at professional conferences. Crystal has also developed and presents training on the subject of diversity and enjoys providing opportunities for people to reflect and expand their worldview. Crystal, her spouse, dogs Gracie and Abby, and cat Chloe live in Winchester, Virginia.
