Channing Major grew up in Camdenton, Mo here at Lake of the Ozarks. His father is a local pastor and his mother was a homemaker making sure Channing and his 3 younger sisters were well taken care of. Channing grew up enjoying church, sports, lifting weights, swimming, and the outdoors. He attended Camdenton High where he graduated top 10% in his class of 2007. He was also team captain of his high school football team, the Lakers, and helped them towards a perfect season winning a state championship in the 2005. Channing went on to play college football at Evangel University in Springfield, Mo while studying Secondary Education. Channing moved back to the Lake in 2011 where former Calo President and Founder Ken Huey urged Channing to apply for a job here at Calo. Channing started out as a residential coach really enjoying doing all the activities with the students at Calo like going on camping trips with the Adventure Therapy Program or helping the students train golden retrievers in the Canine Program. Channing quickly moved his way up in the residential department becoming a senior coach, shift lead, and then Team Lead. Channing is now the Residential School Lead with over 9 years of experience at Calo. He helps Calo students find success at school with the support of Academic staff and coaches.
