Adam Eader

Adam has been working with NVW since 2008 and is currently the longest running full-time employee. Before joining NVW, Adam spent years working with teens in different capacities and also received his BA in English and a Teaching Certification, both from the University of Wisconsin system. This Wisconsin native, outdoor enthusiast and teacher began his career with NVW in the field, where he was a Lead Field Instructor. From there he became NVW’s first Field Director, teaching and mentoring staff and students about safe wilderness travel in Wisconsin’s diverse seasons and helping NVW grow to be one of the best wilderness programs in the country. While working as Field Director, Adam also took on the Education Coordinator role and helped found the NVW Academy, which is now a recognized private school by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. Stepping away from his predominant field presence, Adam began using his NVW experience and teaching skills as an NVW Admissions Counselor. Adam is currently NVW’s Admissions Director, overseeing all aspects of admissions while also playing a big part in NVW’s outreach and marketing endeavors. Consistently, Adam finds it necessary and rejuvenating to run Adv. Ed. programs with NVW clients and staff as well as spend time supporting programming at one of NVW’s two locations. Adam maintains certifications as a Wilderness First Responder, Lifeguard, and American Canoe Association Level 3 Tandem and Solo Canoe Instructor. Adam spends his free time with his family, working on his house and property, playing frisbee golf, and just completed his 5th American Birkebiener.
