Todd was raised in Houston, Texas. Throughout his youth and young adulthood, he has had many diverse and growing opportunities. He graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Family and Human Development from Utah State University. He graduated from the University of Akron with a Masters of Art in Marriage and Family Therapy/ Counseling. Early in his career it was apparent that he would focus a lot of his time and energy on adolescent youth and young adults. While in college he worked for two residential programs which focused on different youth populations. He spent five years working as a therapist for a wilderness program in Utah. He also spent three years working for a local mental health and substance abuse agency in Utah. Over the years, he has received specific training in multiple diagnosis; and disorders. They are substance abuse, trauma, ADHD, adolescent issues, and reactive attachment. He also has specific training in several Family Therapy models, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma Focused- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. In 2012 Todd and his wife, Randi, adopted a wonderful boy named Mykiel. This has driven Todd to focus more on youth with developmental trauma. Most recently Todd became TAC Certified, which means that he is certified to work with children with developmental trauma and adoption struggles. Todd and his family enjoy playing games, laughing, and camping.
