Crystal was born in northern California and grew up on the western slope of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), with a minor emphasis in Substance Abuse and Addiction Treatment. Her desire to experience life in the northeast, lead her to Keene, New Hampshire where she earned her Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family therapy from Antioch University New England. Crystal’s clinical experience prior to joining the Calo team included working with children and families in outpatient clinics, residential settings and private practice. Additionally, she was credentialed at two hospitals in the northeast to provide emergency evaluations and facilitate hospitalizations for individuals in crisis. She completed training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with the team at Dartmouth University and comprehensive training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy with Dr. Alan Fruzetti through the Psychology Department at UNR. Crystal has also developed and presents training on the subject of diversity and enjoys providing opportunities for people to reflect and expand their worldview. Crystal, her spouse and their two dogs, Gracie and Abby, live in Jefferson City.
